Do I need to make an appointment? Although you are free to pop in and browse anytime, If you wish to try any gowns on it is best if you make an appointment so we can give you our undivided attention
What should I bring with me? Please bring a good bra with you for fittings, if possible also include a strapless bra, so that you can assess different styles of gown. If you have a specific pair of shoes you would like to wear, bring these with you, alternatively bring a pair of shoes which have a comfortable heel. If at all possible bring the undergarments you are going to wear on your big day for all the fittings, this will cut down on the number of alterations to be made, and time needed for alterations to be completed.
Can I bring my family and friends with me? Of course. But please remember sometimes it is best to bring just one trusted friend as too many opinions can lead to confusion.
How long will my appointment take? Most appointments last 1 – 1.5 hours, but we always schedule 2 hours to ensure that you are never rushed.
We are able to supply gowns in sizes 6 – 24, although not all gowns will be available in all sizes to try on. Should you have your heart set on a particular gown we will endeavour to get a sample close to your size for you to try on.
How long before my wedding should I order my dress? It is best to allow at least 6 months, to accommodate the designers delivery times, and one or two fittings so we can ensure your gown fits like a glove. If you have less time than this, please let us know and we will expedite your order and prioritise your fittings where we can.
Is true that my wedding dress size will be one to two sizes larger than I normally wear? Yes it may be. Sizes across the world are not standardised and wedding gowns usually come up a little smaller than casual wear, but do not worry about this, we will measure you and match this to the designers size charts to ensure you get a perfect fit.
Will alterations need to be made to my dress? Some of our designers will make the gowns to your exact measurements, and you may not need to have alterations for these, however most of our gowns are not made to measure and it is likely that some alterations will need to be made.
Are alterations included in the price of the gown? Most common alterations are included in the price, such as shortening of the gown, minor alterations to side seams to change the width of garment and adding loops to the back of the train. If any of the above alterations means altering beadwork or any fancy pattern work, integral to the design of the dress, a separate quotation for alterations will need to be given.
